Children change seating, menus, and noise level. A dedicated kids' table can free parents, if you have entertainment or a designated adult.

Kids' table: when it works

Suggested age: 6 to 14, groups of 6 to 12 kids max
One designated adult (sitter, witness, cousin) at or next to the table
Kids' menu ordered from caterer, quiet table activities (coloring, games)
Parents of very young kids (0-5): keep kids with them or plan off-room childcare

Seating with parents

Babies and toddlers: always with parents, early exit OK
Same family: group cousins so parents can tag-team
Avoid: lone child at an adult table with no familiar neighbor
