Seating stalls when RSVPs lag. Our recommendation: start at 80–90% of replies, about 4 weeks before the wedding day, then tweak the last tables when stragglers confirm.

Steps

1. Export « confirmed » list from Fiancé
2. Pick table format (round 8–10, rectangular, serpentine)
3. Place head table and « family » tables
4. Seat friend groups, mix tables (see 5 rules)
5. Check couples, kids with parents, diets per table
6. PDF export + printed plan for the day
Try layouts on the seating chart tool before locking in the app.

Common mistakes

Starting at 50% RSVP: you rebuild everything twice.
Forgetting caterer / DJ / photographer table.
Not leaving 1–2 flex seats per table for D-7 tweaks.

How Fiancé can help

Fiancé's seating chart syncs with confirmed RSVPs. Round, rectangular, or serpentine layouts: drag guests into place and export a PDF for your caterer. Start on the online seating chart tool if you do not have the app yet.
