Serpentine seating at your wedding

Serpentine layout: one long U or wave table. When to use it, how many guests, pitfalls to avoid.

Serpentine (one winding table) shows up in rustic weddings and relaxed seated meals. Everyone is « at the same table » visually without a straight 40-meter line.

When to pick serpentine

30 to 80 seated guests (beyond that, flow gets hard)
Plated or family-style service, not a distant buffet
Long venue (barn, tent) rather than a square room
Family vibe: you want one visual « block »

Pitfalls

Tall centerpieces blocking sightlines on curves.
Guests on the outer horseshoe: they only see backs.
Service: caterer must sign off on plate rotation direction.
Serpentine is not an extra table. It is one table that bends.

How Fiancé can help

Fiancé's seating chart syncs with confirmed RSVPs. Round, rectangular, or serpentine layouts: drag guests into place and export a PDF for your caterer. Start on the online seating chart tool if you do not have the app yet.
