Without a per-category split, you discover the budget gap when the caterer's invoice arrives. Here are the percentages we use as defaults in Fiancé, tuned from hundreds of real projects.

Typical split (classic wedding)

Reception venue: 15–25%
Catering and drinks: 30–40%
Photo and video: 8–12%
Music (DJ or band): 5–8%
Attire (dress, suit, beauty): 8–12%
Flowers and decor: 8–10%
Stationery and rings: 3–5%
Contingency: 5–10%

Three templates in Fiancé

Intimate wedding (≤ 50 guests): catering weighs less in % but cost per head rises. Photo and venue take a larger share.
Classic wedding (60–100 guests): the split above applies as-is.
Prestige wedding (100+ guests, open bar, château): catering and venue rise; decor may drop below 8% in share but stays high in euros.
Tip: log every quote in the matching Fiancé category. The app recomputes actual vs planned % and flags drifting lines.

How Fiancé can help

Fiancé tracks expenses, deposits, and due dates in one budget. Intimate, classic, and prestige templates give you a starting split you refine as quotes arrive. Try the budget calculator without an account, then carry the logic into the app.
