A palette that is too wide dilutes decor and complicates vendor briefs. Three active colors plus a neutral (off-white, cream, beige) is enough for 90% of weddings.

4-step method

1. Primary: what you wear or what dominates the room (e.g. terracotta)
2. Accent: light contrast (e.g. olive or mustard)
3. Neutral: paper, linens, photo background (e.g. cream)
4. Test in the venue's natural light, not only on screen
Give hex or Pantone codes to florist and printer. "Blush pink" alone means ten different things.
